Movement is Medicine

Movement and strength training are often the missing part of recovery from pain & injury.

Pain & injury can lead to you moving less, doing less and losing strength. If you’ve sort out hands-on treatment like massage, acupuncture or cupping, you might have noticed that eventually your pain came back. Massage alone isn’t going to restore your strength, function or confidence needed for everyday life.

Without rebuilding strength and capacity you stay exactly where you are.

Is Strength Coaching right for me?

Strength coaching is ideal for you if you are struggling with pain and would like to:

Achieve long-term recovery

Feel stronger in your life

Start doing the activities you love

Understand how to manage pain

Feel safe in how you move

Build confidence & resilience

Reduce risk of injury

Improve your metabolic health

Feel like you can do more than before

Sue’s Story

Sue had been to see multiple therapists for her painful shoulder and sacroiliac joint. She found that her pain kept coming back and no progress was made. It felt like she was just given stretches to manage her symptoms so she just gave up. Working with Carol has been transformational. Her pain is mostly gone and she is stronger than ever. She has loved getting back into her gardening and walking without worrying about her pain.

It’s Never Too Late To Start!

If you have a body, it’s never too late to try to do something that can help you reduce pain and get stronger. Long standing pain doesn’t mean that damage is still being done to your joints.

I’ve worked with people who’ve had pain for many years, they’ve never done any training before and have found significant improvements in their symptoms. Remember your body can adapt at any age. Your muscles, tendons, bones and the nervous system can still respond positively to strength training.

We can all benefit from getting stronger, improving balance and moving with more confidence.

A Positive Coaching Experience

You need the right guidance, programme, education and support to start to reduce pain, improve function and build confidence.

My promise to you is to deliver:

A Personal Approach

Your programme is built for you, what you want and need. I don’t use generic plans. Your goals are specific and meaningful to you. Focussing on your goals will help you stay motivated.

Progressive

A successful programme has to be progressive. You will outgrow resistance bands and the weights you lift will go up. By continually updating your programme you will continue to see improvements and changes.

Movement You Enjoy

I will make sure you understand the whole process. I want to make sure you enjoy how we work together. I’m not going to push you into doing things that you really don’t like. I’m here to be your biggest cheerleader.

How Much Does it Cost?

All good relationships start with a conversation. Let’s find out if we are a good fit to work together. I work with clients for a minimum of three months. That’s how long it takes the body to make meaningful physiological changes.

1 x session per week, costs £200 pcm.

2 x sessions per week, costs £360 pcm.

Give it time

Making progress takes time. The body takes at least 3 months to change. If you have a chronic injury we have to experiment and try different approaches to see what happens. Everyone is unique and we need to find the right way that works for you and your life.

The benefits of one-to-one coaching include:

  • A better understanding of you and your pain
  • The confidence to take back control of your daily life
  • A better night’s sleep
  • Knowing what to do if you have a flare-up
  • Less anxiety about your pain
  • Managing a return to activities/sports
  • Moving with more confidence day to day
  • Regaining trust in your back
  • A movement method to help you move away from pain
  • Feeling like you again!

Carol Seaborne

Massage & Movement Therapies Owner

Hi I’m Carol, I’m passionate about giving you the most valuable, evidence based and honest support to help you with your pain.  I’ve been my own journey with pain, when I injured my knee. I had two years of pain. My pain meant I had to give up running, cycling and weight training. The therapist I saw told me that exercise would cause more damage to my knee and I would need a total knee replacement. Luckily I knew that wasn’t true. I kept active and live my life how I want, knowing that my strength training is keeping me moving in the right direction.
